The Boca Raton train depot is a multi-purpose facility associated with the Boca Raton historical society and the city of Boca Raton. Use of its facilities is scheduled through the lBoca Raton Parks and Recreations organization located on Crawford Boulevard in Boca Raton. Located on Dixie Highway between Palmetto Park Road and Camino Real the facility is visible from Dixie Highway on the west. Fenced off on the west side of the building is an active railroad track and there is a static display of an old steam locomotive located between the building itself and adjacent parking lot to the north. The building itself features two multi-purpose rooms for meetings and things like yoga exercise classes.

Ever wonder what this place is? I’ve been passing this place for years. I have never seen it open. I decided one day recently to see what this place was all about. As usual there was no one around. An antique locomotive and caboose are on the premises and what I think is a reception center. I still don’t know why it is here if it’s never open. I brought a few friends with me to look around.

I came on a Sunday and the museum was closed, which was a disappointment. I didn’t do any research on the hours because I passed it while I was driving and just stopped by on a whim. From what I was able to see though, it’s nice museum. I’ll have to check it out another time
