I got ringworm on my scalp and neck from working in an animal shelter which Dr. Colton happens to be a board member of. After about 3 weeks of using over the counter fungal medicine I had the rash on my neck basically gone but it had spread onto my torso and back. My executive director refused to let me use workmans comp so she set me up an appointment with Dr. Colton, who very conveniently digasnosed me with pitryasis rosea (a rash that goes away on it’s own) and was not at all helpful when I challenged her with questions like “how did could my mom and boyfriend get ringworm in this time span?” When I was told ringworm looks more ‘severe’ I asked, “could it look like this because I’ve been using over the counter creams?” and she didn’t give me any sort of answer and simply changed the subject.
I found out later that pitryasis rosea is very rare to be on the scalp or face and neck, so it’s not surprising to me that when I asked her to look at my scalp she danced around it and distracted me with questions, and never actually touched my head.
Now, because this type of rash isn’t work related, she wants me to pay out of my pocket for the biopsy labs, and promised they would be $90-120. Fine, but I want a hard copy when you get them back. A month later I get a bill for $266 and still no hard copy.
At the time she told me 2-3 days until the results get back, and I had to call her office 3 times over the course of a week to get someone to talk to me, by this time it’s 8 or 9 days after getting my stitch and I tell the woman on the phone it looks like it’s getting infected and she asks when I’m scheduled to come back and get it removed, but the doctor told me it would dissolve and I didn’t need to come back. After some hmm and hawing the assistant tells me to get it taken out and doesn’t say if it was actually a dissolvable stitch or not.
And if all of this is not enough, this woman also called my boss after our appointment and told her about it, which seeing as I did NOT sign a disclosure form, is a HIPAA violation.

I have been using Dr. Colton or years. I now go to Clearlyderm where she works. The office staff is efficient and friendly. I always get top notch service and followup.

I would highly recommend this office.
