Ever since the original owners sold to Bob from Emergency Towing, the company has went to hell. Bob does illegal tows, price gouges and more. Too bad the original owners don’t take back or start a new company.

Bonnie Towing has a location in Palm Beach County at 101 NW 3rd St, Boca Raton, Fl and and a doing business as Emergency Towing in Broward County at 1815 North St Rd 7, Margate, Fl 33063.

My car was towed 07/24/19 from Palm County to the Emergency Towing (broward location). I contacted the towing company the next day to confirm towing fees and location. I also mentioned to Mike (the person over the phone) the car was under an LLC if there would be additional information needed on my end he advised to bring the article of incorporation.

I get to the location and there arent any signs at all displaying the business name on the buildings (Emergency Towing) & the tow trucks dont show business names as well. There I spoke to over the phone was there, Mike, I handed him my driver’s license and the article of incorporation. A few minutes later he states the article of incorporation papers I handed him were not the correct forms. I advised him the articles of incorporation information for the business was printed directly from the Sunbiz website prior to me coming here and it’s only generated in 1 format. Mike proceed to look on his computer to verify the LLC. Mike concluded the LLC was is not a registered business in the State of Florida. I assurd him I was on the website and the business is currently active. I showed him on my phone after accessing the website the business was legit and he said he need to see it on his computer. Another employee comes and assist him they find the information so the vehicle verified as me as the owner, great!

I proceed to pay with my personal debit card with my name on it and was told only a debit card with the businesses name can be accepted. I asked why he responded that is how it is. I said that cant be right, the card is in my name and you have my I’d. Mike again said that is how it is and SLAM his window shut. I guess he was upset I questioned the form of payment. I went to my bank near by and got the money.

I had to sign the receipt and I thoroughly looked at it and method of payment option showed as debit card, credit card & cash. The receipt showed my car was towed to the Boca location and picked up at the Boca location and had Bonnie Towing as the business name. I wrote on the receipt the actual address where the car picked up and noted was noted I can only make cash payment on the receipt. Signed it gave it to Mike and boy was he upset!

I got my car and as I drove it off it made a terrible sound like something was scratching against the rotors. I made an immediate you turn pulled to the business next to Emergency Towing, pulled in the parking space (ihop) and contacted the police to make a report. The next day I contacted palm county consumer affairs and open an investigation. I also took my car to the dealership to get inspected. Turns out something in the rotors area was misaligned from the tugging and pulling from the tow and the dealership put it back in place free of charge.

Today the investigation was completed with consumers affair in Palm Beach County and I was given a full refund. If your car gets towed in Palm Beach County and gets towed to there Broward county location make a complaint with consumers affair and make sure you make a police report. If your told to pay cash only. Call the cops 1st before making payment and ask with officer there reason for cash payment.

I honestly could have let it all go but Mike was disgustingly rude. He slammed that window down several times in my face and God forbid if my fingers happen to be near the window they would literally have chopped off. I wasnt rude at all to him all I did was question why I couldnt pay with my card. It was inconvenient to get cash but my bank was literally down the street, it was no biggie but because Mike was so rude with me I made time to put this complaint against Bonnie Towing. If anyone find themselves in the same situation as me do what I did above and call consumer affairs. The number is on the back of the receipt they give you.
