Yamato Scrub Natural Area

This place is great! Finally found a decent size place to take a walk. There are some parks out in Davie that have long trails but it’s nice to switch it up and see what else south Florida has to offer. Since I used to live in the NE hiking was a big part of my life and when we moved here some of the parks I found were 0.5 mile trails. Which is fine for other activities but not walking. This one was perfect for a long walk though nature. I believe there were 4 trails all in total 5 or so miles!

Best natural area around, and biggest. Hot over 5 miles in making sure to get every trail in.

So peaceful, you just forget that you have anything to do. Some places here really are amazing. The way they detailed the trails is just something to experience. Thanks so much Yomato Natural Scrub Club.

I hike the entire park 5x a week. It’s well maintained. The north loop gets flooded and holds water. Trails total to 5.2 miles. There is paved and sandy trails through pines, palmetto palms and scrub brushes. Lots of lizards, iguanas, gopher turtles and black snakes which are no threat. Also lots of birds and hawks. one of the few parks you feel in the woods. Watch out for bikes as not allowed but not enforced.

Wear a hiking shoe if toy are going on the sand trail. Raise tree roots will stub your toe with light weight walking shoe.

Wonderful experience. Highly recommend it.
