Today Monday 01/27/20 at 08:06 am I call this Police Department because on behalf of my place of work I have to do a police report regarding a fraudulent transaction, unfortunately I do not have the person who answer the phone name, that is why I put the date and hour that the call was made. This person have a really bad attitude, I even questioned if he was a police officer, he told me that they don’t do that work and that I have to take care of that myself, is lake he didn’t care about people identity stolen and being use for a fraudulent transaction.

AWFUL telephone presence and face to face interactions…
After I drove from Miami Gardens to Deerfield with the list of transactions from dude that stole my wallet, I was then asked for my case number that was given to me the prior night
I would rather call my dead father than these PRETEND POlice any second on ANY DAY
Good luck in Deerfield…
Love,
Caroll City

There might be a few decent officers but most here will violate your rights and treat you like a criminal when your minding your own business. Like to act like a bunch of tough guys. Should really remember your civil servants. This department needs some retraining

I got arrested for drug possession and they brought me here. Great place, the air conditioning is nice and the cells were more comfortable than Miami-Dade. 1010 would get arrested again

This sheriff’s department as many others have commented, likes to make their own policies regarding enforcing the laws of the city, rather than simply enforcing the laws as written. In fact most deputies who show up do not know the law and incorrectly cite portions of the law that do not apply in said instance. For example when there is a noise disturbance at 10pm they will insist that the noise must be over a certain decibel rating for them to issue a ticket, and yet they carry no decibel meters with them and fail to realize the decibel rating only applies between the hours of 7am and 9pm. Between the hours of 9pm and 7am the noise must be audible from at least 50 feet away for a citation to be issued, and yet despite having them to my neighborhood more than 40X in the past year for noise disturbances (sometimes 2-3x a night) they have failed to issue a single citation claiming they are under direct orders from Captain Schnakenberg not to do so. They even go as far as harassing me, telling me that I am the problem and asking why none of my other neighbors complain. The reason is simple – they don’t want to be treated with hostility by the one home of noisy neighbors as I have been treated, including two thefts on my property by said neighbors after filing complaints to intimidate me. They claimed that I was making it all up and if there was a real problem others would call in, and until they do they won’t treat the issue seriously. I then documented the noise via time and date stamped video, played it for them and finally they changed their tone about my being crazy, but still issued no citations for the offense. Essentially they are permitting the issue to be ongoing by never doing a thing to address the issue or issuing citations to provide a deterrent for continuing the disturbing behavior. This is the most useless and corrupt police force I’ve ever had the dissatisfaction of working with. And good luck trying to file an internal investigation complaint against them with the Broward Sheriff main office, as they send the investigation back to the Captain in Deerfield who is part of the ongoing problem. Needless to say he never followed through with the prior complaint I filed against his department, despite the main office saying he would within 8 days. It’s a sad day when law enforcement fails to enforce the law (their sworn duty) and the corruption goes all the way to the captain running the department.
