I was a church volunteer at Broward Transitional Center ( managed by GEO) in Florida, for almost 6 years. My volunteer work included going to the facility once a week for 2 hours to listen ,talk , pray and sing with female inmates. Inmates was not happy for being detained but all inmates that i got the opportunity to meet was very happy with the treatment they received there and with the amenities the facility provided. The inmates had play room with TV, billboard, holidays celebration etc. One of my church volunteer co-worker was a hairdresser and she was invited by GEO staff to come as a volunteer to do and teach female inmates how to do hair, Geo is very concerned about the well being of their inmates. I was a church volunteer for many other different immigration facilities and jails managed by other companies and/or government , and GEO facility was the best i have been .

I moved to the corporate office 3 1/2 years ago. GEO Care leadership believes in the mission and walks the talk. We provide case management and community referrals that help individuals transition successfully back to life outside jail and prison. If you haven’t visited a GEO Care facility – you don’t know GEO.

My husband is in a facility in Newark, nj and they have been without air conditioning for 4 days and nobody is doing anything about it. Is 100 degrees outside so you know it’s hotter inside. That’s cruel and unusual punishment.

I worked with a wonderful staff. My supervisor was very supportive and and understating. The initial hiring process was a little slow but in the end, I received all i was promised. Their pay is fair if not great, the benefits are wonderful and again, the staff was wonderful. I was laid off once Trump’s administration canceled our contract, otherwise, I would still be working for Geo. They don’t seem to have a high turnover rate in my area because jobs don’t open up here often. But I completely understand why. I hope to soon rejoin the Geo family. A great company to grow with!!
