Green Apple Entertainment

If you’re a filmmaker or producer and end up talking with Joshua Carpenter or anyone from that company. RUN! RUN as far and fast as you can. They destroyed the opportunity for my film on domestic. They have made ZERO effort to sell it. It took them three years to even release it. They made a horrible useless poster, and to add insult to injury they now have it shown for free in their own channel something that we never agreed on and that makes us ZERO money. They are a racketeering operation, nothing more nothing less. Speaking from personal experience. Feel free to contact me directly to ask any details. I’ll talk your ear off.

This supposed “distributor” & “film sales agent” is a JOKE! I feel like they have no moral compass. Not communicative. No real plan for how to release films. Maybe they’ll release quarterly reports if you threaten litigation. Their artwork that they charge you for is sub-par.

They seem to promise the moon and the stars to get your film – I was told repeatedly by the sales agent Joshua Carpenter that he already had interested outlets for the movie such as Netflix, Redbox, Walmart, Target, Best Buy, etc. As soon as I signed the contract, those offers seemed to disappear.

And then I found out that they just give library of films to an aggregator a couple times per year, who just blasts the entire library to vendors and hopes the vendors will see the value in taking a chunk of movies. Oh, and they’ll personally place your movie on Amazon, which by the way, you can do by yourself in about 2 hours. That’s it!!!

And the worse part is I realized afterwards I didn’t even NEED THESE JERKS!!! I could’ve went directly to the aggregator myself and saved the bogus, inflated fees Green Apple charges and the nightmare of having to constantly answer fans who can’t find the damn movie. These guys are the new YORK ENTERTAINMENT!!! And if you guys distributed films in the late 90s / early 2000s, you know all about York Entertainment. If you don’t know about York Entertainment and Tanya York – Google it and you’ll know all you need to know about Green Apple Entertainment. Tim Warren, Joshua Carpenter and the entire Green Apple Entertainment company are gut maggots without the guts, as Gary Busey would say.

Very poor distributor or sales agent or whatever they call themselves today. First of all, “Green Apple Entertainment” is just a dba (doing business as – “different name”) for J15 MEDIA, INC which is run out of a condo in a retirement community in Boca Raton, FL.

Secondly, they make promises – not hypotheticals, not possibilities, actual promises – that they can get you with major distributors and big box retailers but never deliver. Happened to me, happened to every other producer I’ve spoken with that worked with them. Only a couple of deals (literally 2) they actually landed with Sony for DVD/Blu-ray sales were initiated by the film’s producers themselves and GAE managed to not screw it up.

STAY AWAY!!! The previous poster’s comparison to York Entertainment is pretty accurate. All promises, under-delivers and non-responsive.
