Kenneth Kline is an Angel. There aren’t words to language my gratitude for all his ‘Angelic Assistance’. I highly recommend anyone who needs an Advocate to call him now. Expect a Miracle and be open to receive!

I think Ken saved my sanity. I ended up with a nonsense $34k bill for an out of state and out of network ER visit where I barely even had anything done. $34k for some tests, painkillers, observation, and discharge. I was also in the perfect storm of not qualifying for any of the usual legal protections from both the state where I’m insured and state of service. Insurance applied $2900 to my deductible (which was in the realm of what the visit should have cost, paid $0 for the rest, and marked the entire bill as “paid”.

Initially, I had no idea how to handle the situation. Paying would be outrageous. It took a couple phone calls to conclude that I also wasn’t getting anything from insurance. And I had no idea who to contact at the hospital to get the situation resolved fairly. From what I read on the internet and what some other medical bill negotiation services told me, the hospital from the particular chain I was dealing with also had a no negotiation policy. Ignoring it? I would strongly reserve to get the situation resolved cleanly.

After weeks of research on the internet, I thought I found my guy. After I went in for my consultation, I felt a huge difference in my stress levels because I had the confidence that somebody was handling the situation so I wouldn’t have to worry about it. I had successfully outsourced the stress.

The entire process took almost a year but has been resolved to my satisfaction. Ken got in contact all the way up to the CFO and got me a price that I considered reasonable and affordable with a hospital that has a no negotiation policy. I’m honestly not sure if I could have gotten a deal if I had hired anyone else. The most interesting part was that when I presented the situation to him, the more impossible I made the situation sound, the more interested he was. He’s not just in it to make a profit. Yes, he does have to charge and his fees are not low. But he only charges when he’s actually working (not on hold on the phone). And most of the time when we have an appointment, he undercharged me because he also doesn’t bill for chit chat.

Kenneth and his team are the best in the business. If you are experiencing billing issues with your healthcare provider, such as excessive charges or surprise bills in the mail, this is the place to go. I cannot recommend them enough.

5 stars for Kenneth! He returned my email the same day with a phone call. He listened to my concerns and helped me to plan strategies. He offered follow up help. He seems genuinely concerned with my health care dilemmas. His number one priority seems to be helping others. He has a great sense of humor.

If you are experiencing any issues concerning payment of medical bills, I cannot more highly recommend you contact Human Health Advocates. I believe a brief background will help illustrate how Human Health Advocates assists people in my position not only in reducing their bills, but more importantly in reducing the stress that accompanies the calls and letters people receive while they are either in treatment or trying to recover from whatever befell them.

In May of 2018 I was diagnosed with a Stage Three Sarcoma on my back, close to my spine. The disease had progressed to the point where I was unable to walk more than thirty feet at a time. I luckily found a great team of specialists at University of Miami. The first step was to install a port in my chest, followed by chemotherapy, which lasted for six months, then six weeks of radiation, an operation that removed four ribs and my trapezoid muscle, and then further chemotherapy. As you can imagine, the medical bills associated with this amount of care was in the high six figures.

Early on, I was notified by my insurer that they would be challenging the bills, as my policy had renewed in March and they stated I had a “pre-existing condition” which I had not disclosed on my application. As I had not been diagnosed until May, I believed the determination was inaccurate. Regardless, I began receiving medical bills for tens of thousands of dollars every week. It was not a burden that anyone enduring massive doses of chemo should ever have to deal with. Luckily, a friend suggested I contact Ken, the President of Human Health Advocates.

Ken immediately scheduled a meeting. He listened intently to my story and assured me that he would have all my bills redirected to his office and that he would “handle everything so I could focus on my health”. He did just that. There were no more calls and the occasional bills that were mistakenly sent to me were immediately handled by his office. From that point on, I didn’t concern myself with anything but being cancer free.

In the end, Human Health Advocates reduced my medical bills to less than a third of what was billed. Ken kept me abreast of what was happening the entire way and ultimately arranged a payment plan that I could afford. I have no doubt that my recovery was in no small part due to the relief from stress that Human Health Advocates provided.
