Pondhawk Natural Area

Really cool place. A few trails to keep it interesting. Beats walking around my parents 55+ trails 😁

This park is a critical scrub habitat nestled in the middle of Boca Raton. I hope people really can appreciate the necessity of places like this not just for recreation but for conservation. The only thing I do not like is the use of herbicides (by I believe the city) who manages it. I understand it’s spot sprayed to increase native plant diversity, at least make it not so obvious. Have volunteer invasive species plant removal days instead.

This place was awesome! Being from the north east there aren’t many parks in the area to go hiking or even for a long walk. This place was perfect for a decent walk. It had 3 trails and 2 of them are nature trails. The walk was easy but it was big enough to exercise and you could even bring a bike. While on the walk there were tons of turtles and we even had the pleasure of seeing a young alligator.

Really nice, pretty area. Great for an hour or 2 respite from daily cares. Nice bird watching. We stuck to the boardwalk, but there are side trails you can wander into. Then a walk around the lake, where you can see huge iguanas hanging in the trees.

Wonderful place to walk and see some birds along the way. One of the many great parks Boca has to offer. Living here for 63 years it’s nice we don’t have just condos on this property.
