I’m a long time pharmacy customer and I’m going to let you know why the mix of reviews come out to average… Joe, the Pharmacy Manager is everything you’d want a pharmacy manager to be from courteous, expeditious, truly makes you feel like you are his priority (even when it’s clear you can’t possibly be). 5 stars.
On the other hand, the Assistant Pharmacy Manager is his polar opposite and most times I will literally leave and come back another day when Joe’s there. It’s that bad. I see several comments about her attitude below and they are spot on, she is always very rude, never seen her smile (even before masks), and she seems to make everything so much more complicated than they need to be!
Publix, you’re doing yourself a massive disservice here. I went in this morning at 9:00 (it’s a Wednesday) and they’re doing vaccinations again too. I was the only one in line, and saw a single person sitting, waiting for a vaccine, and I was given the big sigh, “Can you pick this up tomorrow? No I need it today sometime. Ugh, ok. It’s going to be after 5:00.” I guess today the two associates can’t handle prescriptions AND vaccines (I know that would be crazy). If they’re stretched too thin now, I can’t imagine the service when there are multiple people there for pharmacy and vaccines! It’s really a shame.

My whole family and I used to go to Walgreens or CVS to fill our Prescriptions but there is a Pharmacist in Publix at Boca Raton Hidden Valley Plaza and his NAME IS JOSEPH. I don’t have his last name but I want everyone to know how wonderful, helpful and extremely accommodating he is with everyone. Now my family and I only go to this Publix Pharmacy because of Joseph!

I don’t know what kind of people they hirer in the pharmacy but I called about the status of a RX simple call and got the most snotty stuck up lady I’ve ever talked to. I guess I should be grateful she even picked up…..

I will never use this pharmacy again. Of the employees that work there, two of the women have been rude and disrespectful to me multiple times that I have gone to pick up my prescriptions. My main goal of this review is to prevent potential future customers from having to put up with an unprofessional attitude and blatant disrespect. It’s pretty simple, if you’re rude, condescending and unprofessional to your customers, they’ll stop patronizing your establishment. While I’m sure the employees there don’t care, I’m sure the higher-ups do.
I have never interacted with the head pharmacist there but I have interacted with the assistant pharmacist. The first time that I went to fill my prescriptions there, she belligerently asked me several probing questions which didn’t pertain to the process whatsoever. I provided her an out of state license for a form of identification and she proceeded to rudely ask why I was down in Florida in the first place. In my honest opinion, the answer to that question is none of their business. She was rude the rest of the time of my initial script drop off.
Now, I will take responsibility and admit that I was requesting medications through their automated phone service, but this was only after my doctor told me that they would prescribe me a three-month supply of my medication, which I guess they did not (another level of incompetence that this pharmacy isn’t responsible for).
After requesting medication in this manner the most recent instance, I went to this pharmacy to see if my medications were ready. As they saw me there to pick up my medication a pharmacy employee (a blonde woman) turned to the assistant pharmacist and said to her “It’s so annoying he does this EVERY time.” Then out of irritation she didn’t help me at the pick up counter and left the assistant pharmacist to do the work that she should be respectfully doing. I was standing right in front of her, I’m not as stupid and oblivious as she thinks I am and I caught on to the snide comment.
It’s pretty clear that some of the employees behind the counter there don’t know how to maintain a professional demeanor. Now, I’m sure the aforementioned employees will be able to see this review and I don’t think they will care at all. Hopefully, they do start to care when their job security is in jeopardy.

The pharmacists are very helpful. They understand different insurance coverages and they are always willing to help. They make a trip to the pharmacy a pleasant one. Plus, it’s very convenient to be able to pick up a prescription when making a run to Publix!
