Since Baptist healthcare has taken over, the Center is now charging all Medicare patients with “provider based billing”, which is basically a charge for walking into the center, or any office building on hospital property for a doctor visit. I saw my physician in March and was billed both for an office visit and for walking into a facility because it is on (or near the hospital). I saw my physician for 5 minutes. I will be going offsite for all my subsequent care.

To see a doctor for a 3 minute follow-up visit, for him to check vitals and INR, and say you’re good for a year, and then get a $452 bill in the mail is beyond absurd.
